Over fifty years ago, John Rosselli opened his first antiques shop in New York City. He quickly created a destination for interior designers and architects who came to rely on John’s sophisticated eye and the shop’s ever changing inventory of antiques and furnishings. In 1980 they began creating reproductions of antique accessories, lighting, and occasional furniture. Painted finishes, exacting detail, and the ability to customize quickly established the Rosselli workroom as an important resource for the interior design community.

By 1985 John’s nephew Jonathan Gargiulo joined the company and shortly after opened a Rosselli showroom in NYC’s D&D building. At this time the business was expanded to include additional lines of furniture and lighting, as well as fabrics and wall coverings.  Soon after opening the John Rosselli showroom, the company became the exclusive distributor for British designer Robert Kime fabrics in America.

Over the next ten years three additional trade only showrooms were opened: Washington, DC, Dania, FL and Chicago, IL. Each has quickly become popular with designers who appreciate John’s timeless sense of style and lifelong commitment to quality. Today John Rosselli continues its traditions of bringing new and exciting products to market and maintaining a distinguished staff able to accommodate your design needs.

Interior Crafts, Inc. was founded by Vito Ursini and Jerry Seiff in 1951. This Chicago based furniture manufacturer perfected the art of upholstery, wood working and finishing under one roof. With such a trade demand for Interior Crafts’ quality and style, they launched their first flagship trade only showroom in the Chicago Merchandise Mart in 1958.

Luxurious upholstered frames are tailored superbly with the option of custom sizes. With all seating, comfort is a paramount for their upholstery collection. Frames are built to last for generations using only hard woods, doweling and mortise tension and eight way hand-tied springs. The case pieces display an impressive selection of woods and exotic veneers. Intricate hand carving and specialty finishes such as metal leafs adorn many of the pieces making each an individual piece of jewelry.

The Sossego [so-SAY-go] Showroom delivers Brazilian Design Furniture and is the exclusive distributor of the award-winning designer Aristeu Pires in the United States.  “Sossego” is Portuguese and is translated as a deep, quiet tranquility. The two connected with their mutual appreciation for modern design and Brazilian culture. Jonathan, an artist and businessman in his own right, was overwhelmed with Aristeu’s complete oeuvre. Each piece of upholstered furniture created at EF+LM incorporates the tried & true construction method of eight-way hand tying. This process allows for hardened steel coil springs to be held in place by an intricate web of support wires, helical springs and eight-way hand ties which are secured to the wood frame. It’s labor-intensive, creating a more comfortable, more durable piece of furniture and it’s the right way to build upholstered furniture.

At EF+LM they match each roll of fabric with your order, insure adequate yardage, and inspect every inch of the fabric for flaws or defects. Their technicians tag any defects in the fabric so the cutters can work around them. A defect can include “picks”, light and dark areas, or anything visually or physically wrong. They also check the grain of all textiles to make sure they are straight and comparable to the high standard they uphold.

At EF+LM hand craftsmanship is combined with the latest in modern technology and materials to create the highest quality furniture in the world. Each design is built to order one at a time in a collaborative environment. Engineers, craftsmen, finishing and quality control descend on case piece refining the details for aesthetics and durability. Most pieces are created by rough cutting solid hardwoods. If required the finest veneers are hand taped and applied for a beautiful exterior. The unparalleled experience and craftsmanship of the EF+LM cabinetmakers is the key to the creation of your heirloom quality furniture.
